In this exhibition, Sarita Zaleha explores the largely forgotten history of spring water in Geneva and the greater Finger Lakes region. Drawing on site visits, archival research, and primary source materials she examines the local commodification of water and water's relationship to health and wellness in the 19th and early 20th centuries, and local waters’ relationship to oil drilling. The exhibition uses a combination of historical materials, video projections, cyanotypes, letterpress, and mixed media installations.

Sarita Zaleha is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores human perception of the environment and our understanding of climate change. She has exhibited her work in the United States as well as internationally, and has received several grants and awards for her work including the Artist Initiative grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board and the Art(ists) on the Verge Fellowship. She currently teaches printmaking and book arts at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
